Isra Nurhassen is a PhD student in the research group of Computational Virology at TWINCORE. She studied bioinformatics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.

For her bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, she used biomathematical computer simulations to study the effect of mechanical forces on tumor spheroids' growth.

While pursuing her master's degree, she worked as a teaching assistant for programming and bioinformatics courses at the same university. In her master's thesis, she developed a pipeline for the analysis of molecular dynamics simulation data of protein complexes.
