The Core Proteome of Biofilm-Grown Clinical Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates

Jelena Erdmann

Findings

The proteomes of 27 clinical P. aeruginosa isolates were measured under planktonic and biofilm conditions by SWATH-MS and led to the identification of a core biofilm-associated protein profile.

Translational Significance

Most proteomic data sets are on laboratory reference strains like P. aeruginosa PAO1 or PA14. These studies do not reflect the strain variability that is given in clinically obtained strains. The insights from our work could provide useful targets for new clinical interventions to combat biofilm-associated infections.
