Key message

Using the ReFRAME repurposing drug library, we identified novel candidates for broad-spectrum coronavirus antivirals and revealed novel potentially druggable viral host dependency factors used by diverse coronaviruses.

Translational perspective

In this study, we identified molecules with antiviral activity against different coronaviruses. This knowledge can be used for further development of drug candidates and the development of novel host-targeting antiviral therapies.
