After graduating from high school, Natalie Köhler successfully completed her apprenticeship as an MTLA (medical laboratory technician). For her bachelor’s degree, she studied biochemistry at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf and subsequently completed her master's degree in medical biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In 2022, she started her PhD studies at the Institute of Experimental Virology. She is working on the characterization and development of direct-acting antiviral molecules against coronaviruses. For this, she investigates the mode of action and viral resistance mechanisms of potential antiviral compounds.
