Xiaoyu Zhang studied pharmacy and medicinal chemistry at China Pharmaceutical University and received her bachelor’s degree in 2014. She received her PhD in pharmacology at the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in 2020. Her PhD study focused on the discovery of novel antivirals against arenavirus entry. She came to Germany and started her Postdoc at TWINCORE in March 2020, where she is currently working on the identification of genetic factors for severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in children.
